Precautions
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: Renal (kidney) or hepatic (liver) impairment, and myasthenia gravis (neuromuscular disorder causing muscle weakness). Use the medicine with caution if the patient is predisposed to prolonged QT interval (increased risk of irregular heartbeat). This medication is contraindicated in individuals with porphyria (Liver diseases negatively affecting skin and nervous system). What is this medicine? This medicine is a Macrolide antibiotic. It stops the growth of, or sometimes kill, sensitive bacteria by reducing the production of important proteins needed by the bacteria to survive. How to administer this medicine? This medicine is mostly used intravenously or orally. The injectable form is injected into a vein by a medical professional. However, if you are self-injecting or doing it at home, please make sure you take all necessary precautions and follow the correct procedure. The dosage is dependent on the age, condition and its severity. Please consult your doctor before use. How to store this medicine? Please store the oral form of this medicine at room temperature (18-25 Celsius). Keep away from children, and excessive light and moisture. Please read the leaflet provided with the medicine for storage guidance. Will this medicine cause diarrhea? Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, stop taking erythromycin and call your doctor. Do not use anti-diarrhea medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
