The use of alcohol should be limited or avoided while using Chlorpheniramine.

Precautions
The patients with epilepsy (disorder characterized by seizures), Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (prostate enlargement), severe hypertension (high blood pressure), renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) impairment, breathing disorders, asthmatic symptoms, and thyrotoxicosis (thyroid gland disorder), and elderly should use this medicine cautiously.

Primary Uses

This medication is used for treating allergic reactions such as hay fever, runny nose, pruritus (severely itchy patches), urticaria (round, itch welts), itching dermatoses (itchy patches), common cold, etc. It is also used as adjuvant in the treatment of eczema (a condition causing itchy and red skin), dermatitis (skin irritation), and drug eruptions.
