Warnings

Pregnancy
Consult your doctor before using simvastatin during pregnancy for a better analysis.

Lactation
Research suggests that this medicine should not be used by mothers who are breastfeeding. Lactating females should consult their doctors before using this medication.

Driving
Consult your doctor before using simvastatin for a better analysis if you have kidney disease.

Liver
Consult your doctor before using simvastatin for a better analysis if you have liver disease.

Kidney
Consult your doctor before using simvastatin for a better analysis if you have kidney disease.

Alcohol
The use of alcohol should be limited or avoided while using simvastatin.

Precautions
Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you had a history  of liver disease, also perform liver function tests before and after treatment. Renal (kidney) impairment, muscle disorders, hypothyroidism, alcohol abuse, elderly, monitor patients with increased risk factors like hypertension (increased blood pressure), Asian patients and surgery.

How To Use

Do not increase the quantity than prescribed by the doctor. If the condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, get medical help right away. Do not flush simvastatin down the toilet. Keep simvastatin out of the reach of children. Store the simvastatin at room temperature. Keep simvastatin away from sunlight.

Primary Uses

This medicine is used for reduction of total cholesterol, LDL-Cholesterol, apolipoprotein B and triglycerides in primary hypercholesterolemia(high level of cholesterol), heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia(high cholesterol levels) or combined hyperlipidemia( high levels of lipids). Reduce the risk of mortality and non fatal myocardial infarction(heart attack).

Side Effects

Some patients may experience headache, abdominal pain and diarrhoea, constipation, muscle cramps, alopecia(hair loss), peripheral neuropathy(nerve disorder), anemia, hepatitis, myalgia(pain in a muscle), jaundice or rashes.
