Precautions
Exclude malignancy before and during treatment with this medication. Use with caution in severe liver impairment. Patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients in dexlansoprazole delayed-release capsules should also use the drug with caution.

Take this medication with or without meals.

Primary Uses

This drug is indicated as a short term treatment (4 weeks) for heartburn associated with non-erosive GERD (digestive disorder), and short term treatment (8 weeks) of all grades of erosive oesophagitis. It is used to maintain healing of erosive oesophagitis, and relief of heartburn for up to 6 months.

Side Effects

Side effects of this drug include nausea, vomiting, rash, hives, itching, difficulty in breathing, or swallowing, irregular, fast or pounding heartbeat, excessive tiredness, dizziness, lightheadedness, muscle spasms, uncontrallable shaking of a part of the body, seizures, severe diarrhea with watery stools, stomach pain and fever.
