Primary Uses
It is indicated for treating various cancers such as breast, ovarian, lung, bladder, prostate, esophageal, as well as kaposi’s sarcoma (cancer of skin or mucous membranes).
Side Effects
Patients using this medication may at times experience myelosuppression. If you experience this for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
Contraindications
Paclitaxel is contraindicated in patients with anaemia (a condition with lack of healthy blood cells), low blood pressure, low platelets, low white blood cells, high bilirubin, abnormal liver function tests, peripheral neuropathy (nerve pain in arms and legs), impaired liver, in pregnant and lactating females, and in those who are allergic to it or any medicine of this class.
