Warnings

Pregnancy
Fosfomycin  should only be used when absolutely necessary during pregnancy. Pregnant females should consult their doctors about the risks and advantages of Fosfomycin .

Lactation
Fosfomycin should only be used by nursing females when absolutely necessary. Lactating females should consult their doctors about the risks and advantages of Fosfomycin.

Driving
In certain people, Fosfomycin can induce dizziness, vision difficulties, fatigue, or disorientation. As a result, avoid driving if you experience such side effects after taking Fosfomycin.

Liver
Due to the higher risk of the patient’s condition worsening, Fosfomycin should be used cautiously in patients having liver problems. Throughout the treatment with Fosfomycin, it is important to keep a close eye on your liver function. Depending on the patient’s medical condition, appropriate dose modifications or substitution with a reasonable replacement may be required.

Kidney
Due to the higher risk of the patient’s condition worsening, Fosfomycin should be used cautiously in patients having kidney problems. Throughout the treatment with Fosfomycin, it is important to keep a close eye on your kidney function. Depending on the patient’s medical condition, appropriate dose modifications or substitution with a reasonable replacement may be required.

Alcohol
There is no known interaction between Fosfomycin and alcohol. Before consuming, it is recommended that you consult your doctor.

Precautions

Consult your doctor if you are hypersensitive to Fosfomycin or if you have other Allergies/hypersensitivities before taking it. Inactive components in this medicine may result in serious allergies or other complications. For more information, consult your doctor.
Inform your doctor about your medical history, particularly if you have renal problems.
Consult your doctor straight away if you start showing symptoms of  kidney infection (such as discomfort in your lower back or side, chills, or fever). Your doctor may decide to alter your treatment plan.
Sugar and/or aspartame may be present in Fosfomycin. If you suffer from diabetes, phenylketonuria (PKU), or any condition that demands you to restrict or avoid these compounds in your diet, you should proceed with caution. Consult your doctor for advice on how to use this medicine safely.
Fosfomycin may impair the effectiveness of live bacterial vaccinations (such as typhoid vaccine). Before receiving any vaccinations or immunizations, inform your doctor that you are taking Fosfomycin.
Inform your doctor or dentist about all of the products you consume before undergoing surgery (such as  all prescription and nonprescription medicines, and herbal products).

How To Use

Fosfomycin is a medicine that is used to treat simple infections of the urinary tract (acute cystitis) in females, as well as other infections induced by susceptible bacteria.

Side Effects

Patients using this medicine may at times experience nausea, headaches, vomiting, and rash. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.

Contraindications

Patients who have a known hypersensitivity to Fosfomycin or any of the other inactive components in this medicine should not take it.
