This medication is used in female patients to treat infertility due to underdeveloped or no egg production and in males with hypogonadism (decreased production of hormone responsible for male characteristics) to stimulate spermatogenesis (development of sperm).

Side Effects

Multiple pregnancies, hypersensitivity reactions/allergies, headache arthralgia (joint pain), weight gain, GI upset (stomach upset), dizziness and enlarged ovaries.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in female patients with breast, ovaries, uterus tumor, vaginal bleeding and in male patients with testes, prostate tumor.
