Contraindications This medication is contraindicated in patients with  a history of thrombosis(blood clot), active acute porphyria(liver disorder ) and other current severe liver diseases or focal migraine(severe headaches) at the time of presentation. It is also contraindicated in patients with breast cancer or a family history of breast cancer or any hormone dependent cancer .
