Precautions
Flavoxate should be used with extreme caution in patients with glaucoma (eye disorder). Flavoxate is not recommended in patients with obstruction in their GI (gastro-intestinal) tract and urinary tract. Is this medicine an antibiotic? This medicine is not an antibiotic. It is an anti-spasmodic medicine. How does Flavoxate work? This medicine works by increasing the amount of urine that the bladder can hold. It also relaxes the muscle of the bladder. This helps to control the flow of urine. Can this medicine be used for children? This medicine should not be used for children younger than 12 years. Can this medicine be used after surgery? Yes, this medicine can be used to treat the painful, involuntary, or excessive urination after surgical procedures.
