Precautions
Patients with asthma, glaucoma (pressure in the eyes), liver diseases, and epilepsy (seizures) should be cautious. This medicine is contraindicated in individuals who are allergic to antihistamine and have systemic mastocytosis (a condition in which immune cells accumulate in internal organs). 1. Can I take more than the recommended dose to improve my symptoms? You should not take more than the recommended dose as it may cause some serious side effects. Can it cause sleepiness or drowsiness? This medicine may make you feel sleepy or drowsy. Is it okay to drink water after taking cough syrup? It is usually taken on empty stomach. To avoid risks of irritation it is advised to take it with plenty of water. How long does cough syrup take to work? It usually starts working in 30 – 60 minutes.
