The patients taking this medicine should take precautions in cases of cardiac (heart) disease, hypertension (increase in blood pressure) and patients on sodium restricted diet This medicine is contraindicated in patients having pulmonary edema (breathing problem), low calcium levels, high blood pressure, heart problems (e.g., irregular heartbeat, heart failure), kidney disease and swollen ankles/legs/feet due to retaining water. Is sodium citrate bad for your body? If serious side effects occur while intaking sodium citrate then it can be bad for the body. What if the side effects worsen?
