Pregnancy
Its use in pregnant females needs to be under doctor consultation and recommendation.
Lactation
The medicine passes in breast milk. Lactating should consult their doctors before using this medicine.
Alcohol
Please avoid consuming alcohol when taking this medicine.
Precautions
It is to be used with special caution & with a doctor’s consult in individuals having hypercalcemia (high calcium levels), kidney disease, kidney stone, achlorhydria (having no or little stomach acid), heart disease, pancreatic disease, sarcoidosis (a lung disease), malabsorption syndrome (difficulty in absorbing nutrition from food).
Also, some formulations of calcium are sugar-free & they may contain aspartame in them. Hence, its use is to be carefully done in individuals who have phenylketonuria (PKU) or any other condition which requires them to restrict consumption of aspartame. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for its safe use. It is contraindicated in conditions such as sarcoidosis, increased activity of parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism), increase calcium amount in blood (hypercalcemia), dehydration, constipation, kidney stones, tumor that dissolves bone, reduced kidney function. It is also contraindicated in individuals being allergic to calcium & calcium carbonate. When should this medicine be used? It is used in calcium deficiency or in conditions that cause this deficiency secondarily to the primary damage Is it safe to use this medicine with other medicines? Ensure to not use them all in one go, maintain some time interval between each. What food products should be avoided when using calcium supplements? Food involving cereals and spinach is to be refrained from. How to ensure that the desired calcium level is achieved after using this medicine? A calcium blood test is recommended after the treatment course is completed.
