Indications
This medicine is used in the treatment of malaria.
Side Effects
Patients using this medication may at times experience headache, GI (stomach) upset, hair loss, and skin eruptions. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
Warnings

Risk can not be ruled out, so please consult your doctor before using this medication.

This medicine should not be used by breastfeeding mothers.

Please avoid driving when taking this medicine as it may affect your ability to drive.

Please avoid consuming alcohol when taking this medicine.

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with porphyrias (blood disorder), and impaired renal (kidney) or hepatic (liver) function. Perform eye test before and during long term therapy.

What is the right way to use this medicine?
You are advised to take this medicine with your meal and increase fluid intake to avoid stomach upsets
Can I take a double dose in case I skip one?
No, you should not. You are advised to take the next dose scheduled instead rather than multiplying the amount.
Does it affect alertness?
It results in blurring of vision in the initial days but this effect goes off once the body adjusts with the medicine.
Is it safe to use in diabetic patients?
Although it is, but a decreased sugar level has been observed in such patients. They are hence advised to maintain a good sugar level while using this medicine.
Does it have any side effect on skin?
Skin itching and rash have been reported to occur in some patients. Inform your doctor right away if this effect does not go away with time.
